Application of hydroxyethyl cellulose
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is referred to as HEC in the industry and generally has five applications.
1. For water latex paint:
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is use as a protective colloid and can be use for vinyl acetate emulsion polymerization. Improve the stability of the polymerization system over a wide pH range. In the manufacture of finished products, pigments, fillers and the like are use to uniformly disperse, stabilize and provide thickening effect.
It can also be use as a dispersing agent for suspension polymers such as styrene, acrylate, and propylene. It can be use in latex paint to significantly improve thickening and improve leveling performance.
2. Oil drilling:
HEC acts as a thickener in the various muds required for drilling, well-fixing, cementing and fracturing operations. The mud is given good fluidity and stability.
Improve mud carrying capacity during drilling and prevent large amounts of water from entering the reservoir from the mud. Stabilize the production capacity of the oil layer.
3. For building construction and building materials:
Due to its strong water retention capacity, HEC is a cement slurry, an effective thickener and binder for mortar. It can be adde to the mortar to improve fluidity and workability, and to extend the evaporation time of water.
Improve the initial strength of concrete and avoid cracks. It can be use to paint plaster, bonded gypsum and plaster putty to significantly improve its water retention and bond strength.
4, used in toothpaste:
Due to its high salt tolerance and acid resistance, HEC can guarantee the stability of toothpaste paste. In addition, because of the water retention and emulsification ability, the toothpaste is not easy to dry.
5, used in water-based inks,
HEC can make the ink dry quickly and impermeable.
In addition, hydroxyethyl cellulose is also widely use in textile printing and dyeing, paper making, and daily chemicals.
