Putty/paint construction, high temperature is not afraid
For paint applications, high temperatures are definitely not a good thing. Cracking and peeling may occur in the construction under high temperature in summer.
This is not necessarily a problem with the product, and it may be caused by a series of problems caused by high temperature. So what should we pay attention to in high temperature construction?
1. Paint construction to see the temperature
The temperature is very important for the construction of the paint, because the drying and conjunctiva effect of the paint depends on the temperature and humidity, and the film forming conditions and temperature requirements of different types of paints are different.
The solvent-based paint should be apply under the temperature of 5~30 °C. And the water-based paint should be construct under the temperature of 10~35 °C. Overheated weather can cause the paint to dry too quickly, affecting the final result.
2. The best humidity is 60%
In addition to high temperatures in summer, there is also high humidity. And humidity conditions are equally important for coating applications. In general. the optimum humidity for coating construction is 60% to 70%.
The lower humidity is conducive to the film formation of the paint. but if the humidity is too low, the solvent of the solvent-based paint will evaporate too quickly. the water-based paint will dry too fast, and the conjunctiva will not be completely complete, which will affect the wall surface effect.
3. The wall also needs sun protection and windproof
In addition to temperature and humidity, paint construction should pay attention to sun protection and wind protection. The summer sun is strong, and prolong exposure will easily lead to an increase in the surface temperature of the substrate, which will cause the water or solvent to evaporate too quickly, resulting in an unsatisfactory film formation effect and affecting the quality of the coating.
Summer is a typhoon-prone season, and the wind is large and numerous. Gale will accelerate the evaporation of water and will also cause dust to affect the film formation and wall cleanliness.
4. Be careful of the “fake” of the wall drying
In the summer wall construction, there will be an illusion that the wall has dried out. Before construction, the construction personnel must ensure that the wall base is completely dry before proceeding to the next step.
If the wall is difficult to dry due to high temperature, the dehumidifier can be used to accelerate the drying of the wall. If the wall is not paint, it will easily lead to peeling and cracking of the wall.
5. Pay attention to save the paint
The summer temperature is high, and if the preservation is not easy, the paint performance will change, and it is easy to cause problems during construction.
Therefore, summer paint should be stored in a cool, ventilated place, and the storage container must be sealed. It is recommended that the purchase paint be used within the validity period.
6. Extend the wall surface putty drying time
It is necessary to scrape the putty first before painting the wall. Generally, it needs to be scrape 1-3 times, and the normal drying time is 1-2 days. In the summer decoration, as long as possible to extend the time of the putty dry, generally 2-3 days is appropriate.
Because the summer weather is hot and humid, especially when heavy rain arrives, the time for the putty to dry will be lengthened. In addition, when putting putty, you should use a dry cloth to wipe off the water vapor on the wall, try to keep the wall dry, and help the paint on the wall.
7. Wall paint to avoid rainy days
Avoid painting in high humidity or rainy weather when painting walls in summer. Because the foundation of the wall is relatively moist during construction, the paint is not completely dried.
And the water penetrates into the paint surface, causing the paint film to lose its adhesion. Resulting in the wall surface protruding into a drum shape.
8. Wall surface difficult to handle
In summer, it is very easy to see the illusion that the wall has dried out. During construction, the constructor must ensure that the base of the wall is completely dry.
Then apply the wall paint. If conditions permit, the wall moisture content should be measure using a professional instrument. Construction should be carried out after reaching the standard.
9. Finish the wall to avoid exposure
The summer temperature is high and the sun is violent. If the wall after painting is often expose to the sun. it is easy to make the color of the wall fall off, and the white wall will turn yellow.
In addition, the exposure of the wall will also cause the wall to heat up. When the wall temperature drops after the painting is complete. the paint surface will crack. Therefore, it is best to avoid exposure to the wall after painting.
