Types differences and uses of HPMC
HPMC can be divided into instant and hot dissolution. The instant product is surface treated with glyoxal and quickly dispersed with cold water. At that time, the liquid has no viscosity because it’s just dispersed water. No real dissolution. Wait for a while, the viscosity of the liquid slowly increased forming a transparent viscous gel .Thermally soluble HPMC has not been surface treated with ethylene cold water, but can be quickest dispersed in hot water. When the temperature drops to a certain viscosity slowly appear until the formation of transparent viscous gel. Reason of cold water clumps: cellulose in the cold water immediately viscosity become transparent colloid, cellulose inside has not been in contact with water, by the colloid package in the inside, but can slowly dissolve. Hot soluble cellulose mainly used in putty powder, mortar and other powder products. Cold soluble cellulose mainly used in glue, paint and other liquids.
